How To Get Started! Types of Membership Services and Facilities

In order to become a member, you must attend orientation!


How To Get Started!

Anyone who lives or works in the City of Erie or is a member of an organization based in or affiliated with the City may become a member and organizational memberships are available. Services are available for Nonprofit Organizations.

In order to have access to TV production resources and training, a person must become a CAT member by:

1.    Attending one of our monthly orientation sessions;
2.    Showing a current driver's license or other photo ID showing
       residency in the City of Erie, or if a non-resident , a letter verifying that
       he/she is employed by or a member of record of a bona fide organization
       based in or affiliated with the City; showing a current Time Warner Cable bill to
       obtain the Time Warner Cable subscriber's rate, if applicable.
3.    Signing a membership application (if under the age of 18, a parent,  
       guardian, teacher or principal must attend orientation with you and sign
       your membership application);
4.    Paying the current membership fee;
5.    Taking one or more classes leading to certification on equipment.


Types of Membership

Affiliate Member $25.00
Access User Member-non-Time Warner subscriber $45.00
Access User Member-Time Warner subscriber $35.00
Organization Member $20.00 per person to be paid with $60.00 organization fee
Patron Member Contributions of $750 or more in money, services, or equipment


Membership Benefits

Affiliate Members receive promotional mailings and discounts on items offered for sale.

Access User Members receive promotional mailings and member discounts, free access to basic TV production equipment, and assistance, and the right to vote, in person, at membership meetings, including the annual election of membership representation on the City of Erie Cable TV Access Corporation Board of Trustees.

Organization Members: Each identified person of an Organizational Membership receives promotional mailings and member discounts, plus free access to TV production, equipment and assistance. The organization as a whole receives the right to have one representative vote, in person, at membership meetings, including the annual election of membership representation on the Board of Trustees.

Patron Members receive promotional mailings and member discounts, plus recognition for their contributions.

Satellite Downlink Services

Cablecasting. Anything produced using CAT equipment and facilities will be cablecast on Time Warner Channel 2.

Community Bulletin Board. This electronic bulletin board scrolls on Channel 2 during non-program hours. Organizations may promote their non-commercial events on a first-come, first-served basis.

Program Sponsorship. Any member may submit an outside-produced series for cablecasting. Sponsors agree to take full responsibility for the content of the show and must include a statement of sponsorship at the beginning or end of the program.
